A bit Bluer

My Bargello quilt is now bluer than it was before. I find this a bit frustrating as I did prewash all the fabric for this quilt, not something I normally do, and it is the only one that I have had issue with the color running. I normally brush down or vacuum this quilt, but decided it was time for a wash, I even used dye catchers, they were also very blue. You can see the difference in the photos, there is also a bit of a difference in the lighting, we have not painted the room so the wall should show as the same colour. I still love this quilt and as you can see so do the cats.

What a shame. It hasn't effected the impact of the quilt though. It's still gorgeous. just remember if you can't live with it there'll always be a loving home for itt here in South Wales. LOl

Too bad. I have a blue and white quilt on the bed that has done that. Blues are as bad about bleeding as reds.

Your quilt is still VERY beautiful! Lots of hard work went into that baby!! A little trick that my grandmother told me....when washing a quilt for the first time, add 1 cup of table salt in the wash and the fabrics will not bleed. I do that every time that I wash one for the first time and so far have never had one to bleed.

It's still an absolutely gorgeous quilt! No wonder the cats love it so much!
I'm always nervous with blues and reds -- 'cause they almost always bleed. I'm going to try that salt idea next time and see if that works for me.

Well as far as I'm concerned, it's still an amazing quilt with spectacular piecing. ...and as long as the cats are happy, well, enough said, eh?
