Quilt from Gran

I think you can tell that I am a quilter and that I hang out with other quilters by the number of quilts that my little one has. Here is one that my mum has made for her. This one is for when she is a little older. I love how bright this is, very different colours that what my mum normally works with.
I actually did some sewing yesterday, not quilting. I made an extra cover for the pillow I use when nursing. I would like to get some quilting time, but it was nice to be at the sewing machine.

Big Day

Yesterday was the last day the grandparents were here before heaving to fly home, so we decided to go on a small road trip to Canmore. This was DD first road trip, and of course any trip to Canmore is not complete without stopping at the Sugarpine, so it was also DD first visit to a quilt store.

DD was very helpful, first she suggested that we would need a basket.
Here I think she thinks I should get five meters of the batik, but I think one is all I need. And we did take the fat quarter.
This was such a nice day, to share with grandma and grandpa. When we got back to town DH joined us for a lovely super, to complete the day.

Quilt from Guild

This is the fabulous quilt that my guild made as a baby gift. We mad the same pattern for another baby a couple of years ago and I hinted that I really like this pattern and was not likely to make it myself. It is all flannel, and is very cuddly and warm. Each square is on large square folded over a smaller one, with four even smaller ones sew to the top to hold it together. The fabric is all cut on the bias, so no clipping is required. Below is a close up and a picture of the back. For any one from guild who reads my blog, thank you again, I love this quilt.

Happy New Year

Hope your new year has gotten off to a good start. Mine has been filled with baby care and not much else. I guess no surprises there. I wanted to share with you a picture of a parcel that arrived from my mother. These knitted baby clothes were made by my grandmother, who passed away when I was just a teenager, these were made for me to use when I had a child. Before she passed my grandmother made baby clothes for all of her grandchildren to use when they had kids. I don't think anyone thought they would be this long. Its a little out of style, but when sh flits into them, I will be using them.
Here is a quick picture of how peaceful I am when I am sleeping :)
