More baby gifts

I thought I would share a couple more of the homemade baby gifts we received.
The baby blanket was decorated by her grandma, while the knitting was done be her great auntie. So just a little spoiled.
I did get to do a little more sewing last night, I got most of the wall hanging quilted. So hopefully I will have it done by the next time I post, but no promises.

Wall hanging

I finally manage to get some quilting time today. Not long, but enough time to put together the top of this wall hanging.
The two flower blocks were made some time ago by myself and a friend as part of a learn to hand applique class. I had kept them knowing at some point I would have a use for them. The rest of the fabric was also in my stash. I wanted to make a wall hanging to hang over the baby crib. I hope to get this quilted in the next week or so. It was so nice to sit and do a little bit of sewing.

Old Quilt

My BF dose not have any children and is not planning on having any, but I was still honored when she gave her baby quilt to my little one. This quilt would have been made sometime in the late sixties or early seventies. I remember having similar thing when I was a kid, but I do not still have mine. I think this is fun, and yes we do use it.

I also decided to make a carrot cake today, I had to laugh when I found the receipt that I last made over ten years ago, there was a list of ingredient with the directions "make as normal cake." I will let you know how it turns out.
