Bag

Just a quick post to show you the bag I made today, following the instructions from Andrea blog. This was quilt easy and I think it turned out well.
Must say that I am distracted easily, as I had planned to start quilting one of the quilts I sandwich the other day, well there is always tomorrow.

Aaarg

Yesterday, decided I was going to sandwich a couple of quilt, at some point quilt tops should become quilts. Cleared the space, got everything ready, lay out the first quilt, everything is going well. DH is being a sweetie and helping (OK. I'm doing it in his office, there is more room in there). Lay out the second quilt, aaarg.... the batting too small, there should be plenty, its not a very big quilt. I asked for 1.4 meter, I paid for 1.4 meters, let's measure it - 1.2meters, what!

So lunch time today, back to the store I go.

"We don't do exchanges on cut fabric" , in the end they did exchange it, but what a pain.

Here is the one I did get done. Now I just need to decide how I am going to quilt it. I took a class to learn feathers a couple of weeks ago, but I still need a lot of practice. Any other ideas?

Australian log cabin

The last couple of days, I have been trying to get the backs to a couple of quilts made. This is not very interesting, so I can find other thing to do. Last night I when down to my sewing room to make a back, and my Australian log cabin called to me. Most of the fabric was a gift for Christmas (2004). It just sat there in a bag, until May (2007) when I finally managed to cut it into strips, then earlier this month I took it to a quilt till you wilt day, where I made 10 blocks
Last night I finish a couple more blocks. Here is a closed up of one of the blocks plus the the fabric I am using for the centers.

Tonight I did get one of the backs made, but more about that quilt later.

Gift & Fritz

This was a quick project I worked on this week. I still need to find some beads to use for eyes. This was a kit I pick up last summer. This is going to be a thank you gift, for helping to build a wall, and door to what is going to be my new quilting room.

My DH and friend build this one weekend when I was away at retreat. In July the carpet will be going in, and then I will move out of the small room I have been using. It should be nice to have a bit more room. With having 4 cats I find the door to be very important, as this way I can leave a project out, with out worrying about it. Max (the cat picture in my profile) likes to pull pins out of things, and spit them on the floor.

Here is one of my other cats Fritz.
I was trying to take her picture for my profile but she was not being helpful. This photo made me laugh.

First Post

This blog is to share my quilting life and snippets of my life in general. I have been blog stalking for a few months, and I think its time to get involved, and share a bit of my life.

I love to quilt, but don’t seem to get as much time to do that as I like. Other things, like a job, come up and take away from quilting time. Sometimes I plan on quilting, but just end up looking at my fabric.
